I’m Not a Professional Speaker...

but I’ve Got Stories Worth Telling.

I’ve been a guest at a few events and after the initial nerves wear away I leave thinking, "Wow. I really love doing this."

I’m not chasing a TED Talk (yet), and I don’t have a perfectly polished highlight reel. But I do know how to tell a good story, connect with an audience, and sprinkle in just the right amount of humor to keep folks awake.

If you're looking for someone who’s been through the highs, lows, and ‘What do I want to be when I grow up’ moments (even long after you’ve ‘grown up’) I’m your gal.

    From in-house designer to fractional art director, my career didn’t follow the “dream job at a big agency” path.In my speech at the University of Minnesota, I talked about how I found my niche in unglamorous, highly technical industries—because self-awareness (and a love of purposeful design) led me there. As Milton Berle said, “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”

  • Imposter Syndrome: Still Alive and Kicking

    The voice in my head says “who do you think you are?”... and I’ve learned to answer with a laugh and keep going anyway.

  • Laid Off? Let’s Talk About It

    I got the boot during the Great Recession and it turned out to be one of  the best things that ever happened to me! Eventually. After some tears…and lots of ice cream.

Think less "motivational speaker in a power suit" and more "your professional friend who’s been through it and wants to help." I speak from the heart, tell it like it is, and leave people feeling seen, inspired, and ready to take the next step—even if it’s a non-traditional one.
